COAT, VESICANT GAS PROTECTIVE
According to their contract numbers, Gas Protective Coats were manufactured in 1962. It was designed to protect the wearer from toxic gas, although the density in the fabric proved otherwise.Â
They had no collar, a gas flap on the front with draw strings around both the waist and hem. The instructions advise that the draw strings on the hem on each side of the jacket to firmly wrap around each leg before adjusting the position of the waist spindle.Â
Although the gas protective coat looks like it's constructed from two layers of material, it is actually single-layered. The fabric is white with an olive colour printed on the outside.
Due to the finishing process of the fabric, there will be slight differences in color-shade.
